The PM Alliance

If you follow me on twitter (@ElmBlade43) I’m sure you have heard about the Pottermore Alliance, which is a project I have been working on with Dan over at Pottermore News and my good friend Sam who has been a soft spoken informant to both of us when it comes to finding news articles online. The three of us have, since BETA, been communicating constantly about any scrap of Pottermore information we could find. The Pottermore Alliance is our formal partnership in the world of Harry Potter.

With this we have made three important sites that unite all three of us and our collected information:

As always you can find all your news needs here on Blog of a Pottermore Beta as well as on Pottermore News.

And now, in Dan from Pottermore News’ words because I feel like I couldn’t possibly have written it better, is our manifesto:

“Here is all you need to know about the Pottermore Alliance:

The Pottermore Alliance can be split into two parts: a collaboration and a partnership.

The Collaboration

The Pottermore Alliance is a collaborated project between three Harry Potter fans (the webmasters of Pottermore News, nevermindtheweather.org.uk, and Elm Goes to Hogwarts) to create exciting new projects and functionalities for other fans to communicate and use. The projects can range from timelines to forums.

As an introductory “product”, we have created a fan forum. Fans and readers can use the Pottermore Alliance Forum to discuss the books, films, Pottermore and get sorted into houses. It is a great way for fans to interact with each other.

Check out the forum here.

The Partnership

The Pottermore Alliance is also a partnership between two Harry Potter fan news sites, Elm Goes to Hogwarts and Pottermore News, with the help of Sam, the webmaster of Never Mind the Weather. Sam will join the Partnership team as a contributing reporter and writer on both sites. The Pottermore Alliance Partnership will be used to share Pottermore news and discuss it with fans – something all three of us are devoted to doing. Over the past few months, we have developed and continue to develop great relationships with fans from across the world. With the Pottermore Alliance Partnership, we can use these relationships – friendships – for the better.

All three of us will be working hard to share the news with fans and readers on both sites. The three of us are contributors to one another’s sites and will help out writing articles, editorials or features for each of our sites.

Readers and Fans

We have also made it easier for you, the reader. Instead of having to visit multiple sites, searching for the same information, you will be able to use the @ThePMAlliance Twitter feed as a hub for all news, discussions, contests, interviews, and more. Whenever one of us publishes a post, not only will you see it appearing on the site’s personal pages, it will be advertised at the Twitter feed, for readers of all sites to access it. We encourage all of you to follow this account.

More

We continue to create new things for fans to enjoy and they will be appearing over time. Our introductory feature like the forum is only the start of the journey.

Remember, the launch of Pottermore and partnering projects between Sony and Pottermore like Book of Spells is only the beginning of this new stage in Harry Potter history; we still have a long way to go. We will be there, together with readers and fans, sharing with you every moment of the journey.”
