HELLO! If you are here you undoubtedly know that this contains spoilers I think I made it clear in forcing you to type “spoilerme” into the password field that you understand that I am going to be posting details of the Chamber of Secrets chapters as I go through them before the other houses.
Spoilering will begin around 11:00 am EST today. So far the only spoiler I have for you is that ONLY THE FIRST FOUR CHAPTERS ARE SHOWING ONLINE. I will also be glad to answer any questions anyone has HERE not publicly I am trying to keep all spoilers away from those who do not want to accidentally see them.
HELLO! My journey is beginning now. I am about to hit the blue Explore Chapter button and I am a little nervous. Not sure how many of you are on here following along with me. Feel free to leave comments I am glad to chat about it here where only those who want to see can see.
Chapter 1: The Worst Birthday
- There are two moments in chapter one
- The first moment is called “The Magic Word”
- First potion ingredient found it is called “flower heads”
- Okay now I find myself staring at the door to Number Four and it hasn’t let me do anything else. Working on it.
- STILL working on it. I seriously am concerned now. Tried two different computers in two different computer labs at school and neither are fully loading things.
- However I did just collect a jar of honey potion ingredient through the door to Privet Drive. LOL.
- OH GOOD GRACIOUS. The Pottermore Help page just purple screened me. Are you kidding me right now?
- Finally got through and sent in a help query but we all know the response time on that is not the best. I keep logging in and out and refreshing in hopes it will load right with no success so far.
- There is a slight chance this whole thing will have to be put on hold until I can go home and use my own computer. I’m a bit sad about this.
- BELAY THAT A VERY NICE ADMIN TO THE COMPUTER LAB HAS ALLOWED ME TO INSTALL FIREFOX ON ONE OF THE COMPUTERS. I seriously could hug this guy right now, but I might have frightened him slightly. It is installing and I am so relieved I could cry.
- What have we learned from this? Only IE9 or higher,Safari 5, chrome, or firefox will allow you to view the new chapters. I’m not sure how many people will be happy about this.
- I am through the door! Never have I wanted to get through a door more in my life. But the journey is finally on the move again.
- The zoom interaction is incredible this time around.
- There’s also a pretty amazing visual of Dudly falling out of his chair.
- The first moment didn’t have much I’ve found so far, the flower heads and honey.
- The second moment is called “Two Enormous Green Eyes”.
- I have just collected “dried nettles” potion ingredient from the back garden of number four privet dried.
- The illustration for the nettles has been redesigned.
- I have also collected “rose thorns” potion ingredient from the garden. I bet Aunt Petunia would be mad if she found me mucking around in her garden.
- Is it silly that I’m just randomly clicking on things to see if anything happens? The garden is so pretty I don’t want to leave it yet.
- Okay now I know the Dursley’s are going to be mad, I just stole pruning shears out of their back shed.
- You can see Dobby’s eyes blinking at you from a bush.
- There is a chance that not everything is loading correctly. I’m getting an “update flash” message. But everything SEEMS fine so I’m proceeding on to the next chapter.
Chapter 2: Dobby’s Warning
- There are two moments in chapter two
- The first moment is called “Dobby the House Elf”
- There are only two layers of zoom in this moment.
- Harry’s messy, I just found a chocolate frog card in his bed: Newt Scamander!
- As with the first book there are no faces. Harry is always turned away and in this scene Dobby is bowed down so you can not see his face.
- So far the only item I’ve found in this moment is the card. I so wanted to steal stuff from Harry. *clicks around*
- By the way I will be going through this whole thing a second time when I get home from work/school to make sure I haven’t missed anything.
- Feel like I’m missing something in this moment… but I’m moving forward anyway.
- The second moment is called “Aunt Petunia’s Pudding”
- IT’S A MINIGAME??
- Now I’m laughing at myself. I’m supposed to keep the pudding in the air for 14 seconds. I dropped it in less than two seconds. Let’s try that again shall we?
- I have now dropped the pudding like three times. And now I have two people watching me play this silly thing in the computer lab.
- FINALLY got it. I mean it still drops in the end because that’s how it goes in the book.
- My reward for my battle against the pudding? A Bertie Bott’s Sugared Violet Flavoured Bean!
- I kind of wish I could eat that. I’m feeling peckish. Skipped lunch when I saw Chamber was up!
- This moment was entirely the mini game, once you succeed it shuffles you off to the end of chapter screen.
- Remember to feel free to say stuff in comments. Ask questions. Tell me I’m weird. You know all of that is fine.
- It is really strange seeing only Slytherin comments in the end of chapter comment board.
- OH on Pottermore (see PM I can do it too) MoonstoneBlood25175 : The pudding game was fun…now I wish I had pudding.
- Me too, MoonstoneBlood. Me too.
- Hang tight just one moment, a silly muggle is calling me on my mobile. Obviously they don’t realize I’m in the middle of something very important.
- I am back and about to move to chapter 3!
- An important comment I just received:
“I was having trouble getting entry to CoS from the Gateway or from my Profile, but a friend helped me find a workaround that I thought I would pass on here for any Slytherins who are having trouble gaining entry (I noticed several other frustrated Betas in the Common Room)…If you go to the very end of PS/SS and click the arrow at the end of the chapter to get you back to the Gateway and then click the snake icon for CoS, you should find that CoS has now entry points.”
Chapter 3: The Burrow
- This chapter has THREE moments (finally)
- The first moment is called “Harry’s Escape.
- Let’s spring him from his prison guys!!
- We arrive when Hedwig is already in the car and Harry is mounting his dresser to get out.
- It’s very dark and the car floats up and down outside the window. It is truly beautiful.
- Just clicked on Harry and unlocked new info from J.K. Rowling called “Technology”!
- I won’t post the info, just that I found it, you guys will be able to read it soon and you will enjoy it more that way.
- It does mention why Wizards don’t like or need the internet though. LOL!
- But Pottermore! You told me I was magical. And I LOVE the internet.
- WOAH! I went to zoom in and it zoomed out! This moment starts already zoomed and you pan outward. THAT’S DIFFERENT!!
- Harry really is messy. I just collected a Bertie Bott’s Pepper Flavoured Bean.
- I’ve actually eaten one before and it is quite strong and makes you feel like you should be mashing it in a pestle to sprinkle it on your food.
- Zoomed out again and OH NO VERNON DURSLEY IS COMING!
- Yeah, we should be running and what am I doing? Playing with the curtains because they move when you run your mouse over them.
- Glad I stuck around too because I just found a Bertie Bott’s Toast Flavoured bean on an overturned chair.
- And now another this time Chocolate flavoured from the dresser.
- Harry, why is there candy all over your room? I don’t recall you tearing into a bag of Bertie Bott’s during your mad dash to the flying ford anglia.
- Final note on this moment and then I’m really going on to the next: the lamp on the floor turns on and off when you drag your mouse across it.
- Came back and found the Bertie Bott chocolate frog card.
- Also upon return found the Bertie Bott’s Baked Bean Flavoured Bean.
- SERIOUSLY HARRY WHAT’S WITH THE BEANS??
- The second moment is called “The Weasleys’ “
- First thing I see is the Ford Anglia flying over green forests. Let’s see what this moment has in store for us.
- Ahahaha, if you hover over the exhaust from the car it starts to puff out in rings. Must be because it’s a magical car.
- As you zoom in the haze starts to clear, and then on the final zoom you can see the Burrow in the distance!
- I’m not finding anything to click or collect, this moment is simply beautiful but not much to do.
- You know, unless you like making the car shoot out circles of smoke.
- *does this again and giggles*
- Oh! Smoke starts to billow from the Burrow fireplaces if you hover over it with your mouse.
- Hope Mrs. Weasley is cooking up something good because I’m still pretty hungry.
- CAME BACK AND COLLECTED HORKLUMP JUICE IN THE GARDEN!
- The third moment is called “De-Gnoming the Garden”.
- It’s another mini-game!
- I have to grab gnomes and chuck them out of the Weasley’s back garden!
- And apparently you get a bonus if you get them past the tree stump. I seem to remember Harry aiming for a tree stump in the books!
- Here gnomey gnomey gnomey.
- Tip: don’t let go of the knome until he is pointed so he won’t hit the wall. Poor gnomes I’m just chucking them at the garden wall now.
- If you go up just before this moment you will see I backtracked a mo because I was told there was an item to collect. FIRST TIME YOU CAN COLLECT HORKLUMP JUICE THERE.
- Now back to the darn gnomes. No wonder the Weasley boys hated this job.
- GOT ONE PAST THE STUMP!
- I mean, sorry Mr. Gnome for throwing you so far. Surely you must now be quite dizzy.
- Whoops, just threw one backwards and further into the garden. LOL.
- Phew, garden has been de-gnomed.
- My farthest flung gnome? 12.47m
- As a reward for de-gnoming the garden I received a copy of Gilderoy Lockhart’s Guide to Household Pests.
- Now forgive me for a moment but I need to go visit the little witch’s room.
- While I’m gone feel free to comment if there is stuff you want to know. If you think I’m nuts. If you think I rock. If you want to throw gnomes. Or if you want me to gift you one of the objects above that you see I have collected. Because I want to make sure they regenerate anyway.
- And I’m back. Had to visit the water fountain because the de-gnoming really took it out of me. LOL.
Chapter 4: At Flourish and Blotts
- This chapter has FOUR moments.
- The first moment is called “Letters From School”
- I don’t believe it. ANOTHER MINI GAME!
- Maybe all those “copy and paste” petitions on Pottermore actually worked? I’m so surprised at this.
- There are six letters on the table and I am to click them in the proper order to advance. The tip says it is connected to the order the items around the table are mentioned in the book.
- Oh dear, wrong wrong wrong. I am so tempted to bring up the ebook on my iphone and read it. LOL.
- Nope, didn’t need to, at the end it tells you which envelopes you had correct so I played it like a game of memory until I got it. Now the cup has moved to the side and I have collected my second year shopping list!!
- Also, on the table and open is the letter from Hermione that she sends to them while she is in France and you can read it.
- The bacon in the frying pan also moves and sizzles.
- The second moment is called “Floo Powder”.
- And now I am I’m standing before the Weasleys’ fireplace. The fire is flickering and it is stacked full of books.
- WAIT! There are books to collect!
- One Minute Feasts
- Charm Your Own Cheese
- Enchantment in Baking
- I have now gotten 16 points from collecting items so far.
- I hope the Weasleys don’t mind me stealing their stuff because I also just collected a “Skullery Key” and some “Fire Tongs”.
- Alright now to figure out how to use floo powder.
- Ahahaha, I had to actually take floo powder from the flower pot on the mantle and drop it into the fire. Awesome!
- Came back and found the Ignatia Wildsmith chocolate frog card in the laundry to the left of the fireplace. Thank you commenters!
- The third moment is called “Borgin and Burkes”.
- And the shop is creepy. It is dark and there are things that look slightly sinister all over the place.
- I’m not sure how many of you are here at once, but this blog entry just broke 1000 hits and now I’m realizing how many of you probably now think I’m really weird. Ah, well, BORGIN AND BURKES.
- Zooming around, you can see Draco and his Father coming in the door.
- There’s an eyeball in a glass case that wiggles when you hover your mouse over it. Super creepy.
- I’m not finding anything to collect in here, I think I’m blind. Or maybe I shouldn’t take things from a Dark Arts store anyway.
- Spoke too soon, just found a “Mask” hope they don’t come after me for shop lifting!
- Okay, I might want to get out of here fast now, I think I might have just stolen FIVE GALLEONS from behind the counter.
- Collected a bottle of “Dragon Liver” potions ingredient from in the window. I am just stealing everything from this store.
- I suppose serves them right.
- Sorry got distracted in comments talking about something in the next moment…
- The fourth moment is called “Lucius Malfoy”.
- LOL. At first I wrong Luscious Malfoy. LOL. Now I am laughing at myself. Luscious Lucius Malfoy. ANYWAY.
- Nabbed a “Hairpin” out of a woman in front of me’s bun.
- HOW MANY OF YOU ARE HERE? Sorry the burst of Hairpin comments has made me realized how many of you fabulous people are here for this ride.
- I should do this every time I play through new stuff, you guys are awesome.
- Went back for a card in the second moment of this chapter and now I’m back on track!
- Just stole the potion ingredient “Peppermint” from a lady’s shopping basket. I feel so bad.
- Pausing just one moment. I have a muggle thing I need to deal with for a couple minutes.
- AND I’M BACK so let’s zoom in where we can see that Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy are in the middle of their confrontation.
- Collected the Miranda Goshawk chocolate frog card from a bookshelf
- There are books to pick up here, some are flying through the air!!
- Encyclopedia of Toadstools
- Magical Me (can I throw this one back???)
- Just unlocked “The Malfoys” from J. K. Rowling! Hang tight I have GOT to read this.
- JUICY! So juicy. Oh I love it. I’ve always been fascinated by the Malfoys. Sorry, I’m fangirling a bit. ANYWAY. Back to the moment.
- Not finding anything else here. Not sure if I’m missing anything, but I’m DYING to go back with my hairpin and see if it unlocks Harry’s cupboard.
- IT WORKED! I went back and the cupboard is open! From it I collected the Cornelius Agrippa chocolate frog card and a Bertie Bott’s Sprout flavoured bean!
- This brings me to 29 points earned from these four chapters.
The End Of Chapter Four
- I suspect I am missing one item. As someone said they got 30 points and I only got 29.
- I have had so much fun doing this this way! You guys in the comments have been fun and helpful and if you have not already added me (ElmBlade43) as a friend on Pottermore you need to GO DO IT NOW!
- I think I shall blog like this for future installments too, if you all enjoyed this as much as I did.
- Right now I am going through and bolding collectible items. Then after a break and some food I will be compiling my comprehensive item location list.
- You know if I find where my missing object is, and what it is, or if it exists at all. LOL.
- Okay who knows where the baked bean flavored bean is? Help a sister out?
- GOT IT! Thanks guys. Total of 31 points after I went back for two items in the Harry’s Escape moment which have been inserted into the insane timeline above where they belong. LOL.
- Forgot to mention that they gave us 150 in gold. Not 500.
- Alright I THINK I bolded all of the found and unlocked items, not sure, really going to log of a bit and go get food. Then I shall be compiling a complete list of everything that can be found and where to find them for easier reading.

- New info about Draco Malfoy was added today. It unlocks with The malfoys.
For the life of me, I have tried (almost, I think) everything to turn on the upturned lamp in Harry’s Escape but it just does nothing. I have picked up every other object in this moment except for the last two that i need to finish this particular moment. Can anyone help at all; I would be most grateful for any advice…….:)

Sorry if this has been discussed somewhere, but the letters are supposed to be in the order that breakfast items are mentioned in Chapter 4. Has anybody checked that out? I can’t make any sense of it!

I wonder why the Dursleys’ front door looks slightly different in Ch1 and on the Pottermore Insider screen capture. The number 4 is to the right of the letter slot instead of above it. It looked better above it IMO.

I just love that if you enter the url for chapter 5 it actually says it is locked, and that we should be patient, and they are locked for our protection against being spoiled! Also if you type in chapter 5 moment 1, it is actually loading, but nothing comes up, though you do get to find out what the moments are going to be…
Pottermore has definitely improved! Can’t wait for the next instalment, whenever that might be!
I was “on chapter 6″ for a long time and many people asked me how. You can see moment lists pretty far through the chapters. But I don’t need the spoilers.
I just thought I’d post this here as I can’t exactly post it on Pottermore. It’s kind of boosting the Slytherin ego so if you’re a Slytherin hater look away now! Lol!

Are you on chapter 5 somehow, Elm? Because on my Pottermore gateway, your little symbol is on chapter 5, and since chapter 5 hasn’t been released, I was wondering how that happened…
Magic? No seriously it’s a glitch I can go to moment 1 and it does not load just the spinning wheel. But I was so jazzed it showed me in Chapter 5 I left myself there.

I couldn’t resit just staying there… Even if it’s only for the satisfaction of being able to say that I’m in Chapter Five! 
At the end of Ch4 there’s new content on Draco that wasn’t there yesterday! It’s in a tiny font though and the text is repeated twice. Obviously added before it was edited properly, oops.
I added it to the item list earlier. It seems to unlock when you unlock The Malfoys but definitely wasn’t there yesterday. Weird right?
I still can’t buy the books for next year. Do you know if anyone else is having trouble or where we buy them from?

I guess we’ll just have to give them time! It’s difficult not to moan but they ARE doing an outstanding job, and we’re not easy fans to please! We’ll just have to trust that they’re doing the best that they can – which I’m sure they are!

What chapter/moment do we get our 150 galleons in?
It doesn’t say anything when it gives it to you! I’m assuming when we reached Diagon Alley like Harry for gold in Diagon Alley. I only notices after I was done that my gold has gone up.
Wow, realy? I was expecthing a purple pop-up, or even revisiting Gringots t get the money
I’m wondering if it is because we were in preview mode. Because we couldn’t buy books either. I’m interested to see if the version opened today actually makes a note that the gold has been given to you.
I can’t find the scullery key… And I can’t open any cupboard!! (What cupboard am I meant to be opening and with what anyway!!) I got 30 house points but I’m guessing that’s because of the scullery key!!

Scullery key is hanging to the right of the Weasley’s fireplace in Floo Powder. The hairpin unlocks the cupboard under the stairs in the first moment of chapter 1.
Okay it’s not there anymore! >.< It disappeared on me.
Don’t know if you noticed, in Chapter 3: The Weasley’s moment, if you hover over the sun, you hear a rooster crowing! Lol. And omg n “Harry’s Escape” there is a chocolate frog card next to the lamp on the floor and I am catching my behind to collect it! :’(
I can’t do the Gnome game very well using my Apple touchpad (don’t have a mouse). Any hints?
The gnome game is tricky. You click once and hold to grab the know. You don’t need to move the mouse anywhere it won’t move the gnome. Just hold it until he’s at a good speed from spinning around your hand. You have to let go when he is at the right trajectory to go over the wall. If it was a clock it would be between 2 and 3.
It reminds me of angry birds. Not the same goal but similar in physics.
Thanks for your suggestions! It was helpful and I think your whole blog is wonderful! Interesting, informative and fun! it took me quite a while but I did throw the 4 gnomes! My touchpad still doesn’t work as well for this as a regular mouse would. I am looking forward to the rest of CoS and your blog!

with my fist account i had a hat stall between Slytherin Gryffindor and rawenclaw and selected Gryffindor
i tried two times to get into Slytherin first got in Gryffindor through got in Slytherin second try but i rally have to answer hard
How do you buy the books on the shopping list? I can’t find them at Flourish and Blotts and they don’t seem to be in the chapter.
The books have not yet been unlocked for purchase so as no to give Slytherin an unfair advantage. I suspect tomorrow when they let the rest of the school in we will be able to buy them.

did you get the sporout falovred bean and Cornelius Agrippa in chap 1 scene 1? i figured you’ve gone back for it, but wasn’t in your list.
It’s at the bottom at the end of chapter 4 because I was making it chronological.

I was a little amped today I think. Lol.
I thought I would point out some new technical aspects. First, looking at the code of the side, book 2′s moments use html5 instead of book 1′s flash. This means that you can now go on an apple device such as an ipod touch, and actually hear the sounds and go through the different zooms in book 2 where you couldn’t in book 1!
I did notice the HTML 5 but think the sound runs on flash. What few realized is I didn’t have flash for most of this. I had to switch to a flash browser for floo powder and if I wanted to hear sound!
did you notice how mouse movements are opposite from book 1? in book 1, mouse right moved the moment right. in book 2 mouse right moved the moment left?
No I didn’t notice but it feels more natural this way that’s why I didn’t notice really.
That helps me understand why my iPad doesn’t work quite right when I try to collect items.

12.8 I’m moving up!
I absolutely cannot get the gnomes out of the garden! The ‘hand’ seems to get stuck and won’t let go of the gnome and I have no directional abilities for throwing them. Is it just me or my computer or is there a ‘trick’ to it? And, yes, I have refreshed multiple times.
Thanks for any guidance on this. Would love to move on to Ch 4, but still locked until de-gnoming has been successful.
Hang on I’m going back to the gnome game. I thought I clicked and held while he spun and then released the mouse button and he flew off in the direction he was at when I let go.
Elm, it wont let me use the floo powder..it lights up and a tab thingy says interact but wont let me do anything!!!??
I actually had issues with this too what browser are you running on and are you hearing sound in all of the moments?
Safari 5.0.6, and no I’m not only in some moments. I thought perhaps there just wasn’t sound in all of them.
The sound is run on flash whereas most I the moments aren’t. The floo powder is flash. Do you have any other browsers at your disposal?
According the Pottermore Insider a little while ago, Herbicide is the least brewed potion. And now we’re suddenly getting its most expensive ingredient, horklump juice, for free. Coincidence?…

2. I can’t buy ingredients, cause i didn’t complete my shopping list (i.e. new books)

There is dragon liver on the right window sill at Borgin and Burkes. I missed the bobby pin too. Going to get it now.
I got’s me the dragon liver actually. I haven’t gone back with the pin yet but I have confirmation that it does open the cabinet.
Just found in there too, five galleons in the draw and a mask on the right wall.

I’m not gonna rush with starting book 2. I wanna read the books first, but I lost them and still can’t find them (Accio doesn’t help). And I dont wanna read the HP e-books (legal or illegal -just no, wanna read the actual books). Also, I think I would rather delete my account and start a new one, so I can relive the entire experience from the start. And I’ll get to CoS whenever. No rush
BTW, I only read GOF, HBP and DH. But that will change whenever I find the books

Do you (Slytherins) get a lot of house points or something in these chapters? Because I’m noticing a HUGE jump in the Slytherin points right now… like, 200,000 points or something… unless I’m really confused. And do you think that once everyone has access, they’ll release more chapters? Because if they just don’t want you to have the new books/spells/potions before everyone (since that’d hardly be fair), they could always reveal those after everyone joined? Or have they revealed them in chapter 4?
I’m not to chapter four yet, but word on the street is we can not yet purchase them, more than likely to keep things fair. There are not a lot of points, just one point for collecting each object. It is just a LOT of people collecting each object causing the spike. We will see similar point spikes in the other houses tomorrow when they all start collecting the same objects.
I think that the annoucement make a lot of slytherins start to collect things on the chapters, but I have finished the 4 and only get 6 points more, but multiply that for all the excited slytherins! By the moment we are not allowed to buy new books so we can’t make any spell of potion that other houses can’t do too.
I think that was all the surprise I think that the next chapters will be avaible or all at the same time (soon I hope)
I suspect to stop people from getting too upset that Slytherin got in early they did only up to chapter 4 and blocked the purchase of the new books that would contain new spells and potions. I suspect we will ALL be able to buy those books tomorrow. Not sure when to expect “chapters 7 – 11″ as they just say “soon”.
By the way I have gotten a total of ten points. I think.

Hmm, despite the new books (well, not the school ones, okay) and ingredients, still no new charms/potions.
We will see which of the ingredients will refresh and which won’t!
I suspect the books are being held back until the rest of the school joins us tomorrow. The new spells and potions will be in books we purchase from our shoping list.
In regards to Dobby’s eyes, it might be a weird flash issue or it might be server overload from all us crazies swarming the moment. LOL.

I saw him! Scroll over the black area in the hedge just left of the tree trunk and his eyes appeared briefly. I scrolled back over it when they were gone and it didn’t appear again. Once I knew where it was, I went back and it did it on Safari.
I knew I must have scrolled over something!
I was having trouble getting entry to CoS from the Gateway or from my Profile, but a friend helped me find a workaround that I thought I would pass on here for any Slytherins who are having trouble gaining entry (I noticed several other frustrated Betas in the Common Room)…
If you go to the very end of PS/SS and click the arrow at the end of the chapter to get you back to the Gateway and then click the snake icon for CoS, you should find that CoS has now entry points.
