A Hatstall is when the sorting hat cannot decide what house to put you in or the wearer of the hat has had it on for over five minutes. A prime example of a hatstall is of course Harry Potter. Two of my friends and family had a hatstall. Both three ways, one between Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. The other between Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and, again Slytherin. This suggests that Pottermore wants hatstallers to have a similar or same choice as Harry. I havent yet seen a Gryffindor/Slytherin hatstall, but I have seen Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff hatstall. More hatstalls are bound to happen because since Pottermore there are around 10 on youtube and Pottermore hasn’t even been open for 72 hours yet! Will we see a Gryffindor/Slytherin hatstall? Who knows.

We still don’t know an official opening date for Pottermore, but while we wait I thought I would share my thoughts on the Pottermore sorting process, a sneak peek behind the curtain of the sorting quiz if you will.

Which house do you belong in?
